What Is ORBERA®?
The ORBERA® Managed Weight Loss Program is a medical procedure for weight loss that focuses on developing long term, sustainable, healthy habits. Non-surgical
ORBERA® is a non-surgical, temporary device designed to boost your current weight loss efforts during the 12-month program. While it isn’t a permanent device, it allows you to learn portion control and develop healthy changes in your eating habits that can last well beyond the 6 month balloon placement.
Placement of the balloon generally takes around 20 minutes during which you will be lightly sedated. The deflated balloon is inserted into your stomach through your mouth, endoscopically. Immediately after the balloon is placed and filled with sterile salt water, you will regain complete awareness and remain in the clinic for observation until the doctor discharges you. The ORBERA® balloon is removed through the mouth in a similar manner, under the same supervised conditions.

OverStitch is an innovative suturing system that allows your doctor to approximate tissues internally without the need of any external incisions. The sutures are placed through a thin flexible tube called an endoscope which is inserted through a natural opening and allows your doctor to view the site clearly and achieve secure tissue approximation. This enables a wide range of procedures to be performed in a minimally invasive manner.
OverStitch Outlet Revision
OverStitch is a specialized suturing system used to place sutures on internal tissues in a minimally invasive manner. It can be used to revise gastric bypass surgery. Gastric bypass is a weight loss procedure which involves dividing the stomach to create a small pouch which is attached to the small intestine after bypassing the rest of the stomach and an uppersegment of the small intestine. This is done to reduce the size of the stomach and the absorption of food through the intestine.
Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty
Weight loss intervention is recommended when excessive weight is endangering one’s health and diet and exercise fail to produce significant results. Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty is the latest weight loss procedure carried out in a minimally invasive manner without making an incision. It has been undertaken for a number of years now and there is up to 2 years of long term published data with weight loss curves mirroring bariatric surgery results. It is most suitable for the Class 1 obese patient BMI 30-35.
